Cereal in baby bottle?

My doc suggested giving a little rice cereal in baby bottle to help sleep longer. My baby was already sleeping 4-5 hrs at a time which im happy about, but I was curious so I decided to try it. I just put one teaspoon in a 4oz bottle, she was up every 3 hours. Has this happened to anyone did rice cereal make baby wake up more.

If your DR honestly told you that..then he is SO far from having updated knowledge you need to find a new pedi...and fast!

Your baby didnt sleep longer b/c rice is a starch and it gets digested nearly just as quickly as his formula does. Cereal does NOT make a baby sleep longer at night.

Unless your baby has reflux, you seriously need to research the effects of putting cereal in a bottle.
Cereal in a bottle..is still a solid..and babies arent ready for solids until close to 6 months..the reason being is they arent born with the correct digestive enzymes to break them down..so feeding her cereal now, is basically forcing her little tummy to find a way to break it down.

..but thats just one of the many issues
