Causes Of Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is typical both to young and adult. It is a sleep disorder that affects the way you breathe usually disrupted or become shallower during sleep. It occurs more than hundred occasions a night resulting to a sleepless night.

There are three forms of sleep apnea: Central, complicated and obstructive. The main type one of the three types is the obstructive kind.

When the muscles found at the back of the throat relax, osa occurs. These muscles are the one which supports the tissue, triangular in shape, that is hanging from the uvula, soft palate, tongue and tonsils. When something occurred that caused the muscles to relax, the tendency is perfect for the airways to narrow or even to close as you inhale. This is the time breathing stops briefly.

The level of oxygen in the blood will lower. When the brain sense that your breathing stops, it will rouse you from sleep causing you to gulp air in order to reopen the passageway of air. This awakening happens in divided seconds that you could not keep in mind it at all. When you awaken and there is a shortness of your breath, you're actually correcting your respiratory rate and within two or more deep breaths, breathing returns to normalcy. This is characterized by choking or snorting as well as gasping sounds.

The problem with this would be that the pattern repeat itself ten to thirty times or maybe more each hour all throughout the night. This particular repeated disruption will impair your ability to have a deep and restful sleep. As a result you will experience daytime sleepiness inside your work and other daily activities. The individual with this type of sleep apnea does not have any indisputable fact that his sleep was disrupted at all.

The less common sleep disorder may be the central sleep apnea. When the brain failed to signal the inhaling and exhaling muscles to do its part, central sleep apnea will happen wherein you will be awaken along with shortness of breath and will have a hard time sleeping or staying asleep. Snoring as well as daytime sleepiness also occurs. People who have been stroke due to a heart disease will most likely experience central sleep apnea.

Complex apnea is a combination of central and obstructive sleep disorder. The people with this type of condition are also suffering airway passing obstruction at the same time have a problem with the breathing patterns with an occasional breathing effort lapses.
Whatever type you are in, it would be better to consult right away your doctor if you see something unusual with your sleep pattern. Simply visit http://www.SleepApneaCauses.net for you to find out more important details on sleep apnea causes.
